We are currently looking for dedicated Shop Helper to join our skilled team at the Portland Shop today! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Help keep shop and yard storage area clean and orderly - Help on mechanical repairs on trucks and equipment - Check and prepare service trucks for use - Clean and pressure wash equipment prior to repairs - Maintain shop equipment and tools - Operate forklift to move pallets and other equipment - Perform various tasks as required This is an entry level position to give candidates the opportunity to see what opportunities Knife River has to offer in the service, construction, trucking and aggregate departments. Hours: Usually, 2:30 PM to 11:00 pm. Hours will vary depending on workload. Must be able to work overtime, Saturdays & Sundays if required. Wage $21.08-$23.45 (Wage includes a $3.00 Differential pay per hour.)
Minimum Qualifications:
Extensive One on One on the Job training will be supplied for this position! - Mechanical aptitude needed to perform work safely and productively - Some knowledge of the care of and safe operation of trucks and light motor driven equipment is a plus - Must be reliable & dependable and work well with others, including fellow team members and customers - Valid driver’s license in good standing required
