Job Summary:
We are looking for a Building Materials Truck Driver to join our team. The responsibility of this position is to assure the safe and timely delivery of building material products to the customer. Training available for driver that does not have experience driving a flat bed.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Requirements for the position include Class B license with tanker endorsements. 2. Preference given for experience driving a flatbed truck. Must maintain medical card and acceptable driving record and where applicable proper endorsement. 3. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent. Acceptable interpersonal communication skills. 4. Must be self-motivated, team-player with excellent interpersonal skills. 5. Ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous and respectful toward others. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Experience driving a flatbed truck 2. Hazmat 3. TWIC Card 4. Forklift experience
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Operate/drive building material truck safely and efficiently. 2. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspection of ready-mix truck in accordance with DOT and CA BIT regulations, including checking fluids such as oil and antifreeze, check lights and report any maintenance issues to the mechanic before getting dispatched. 3. Loading and offloading building material orders, using correct tie downs techniques; experience and knowledge of how to position orders to ensure weight capacity is according to Department of Transportation (DOT)/California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). 4. Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, MSHA, Federal, State, and local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending safety and required training. 5. Works with Building Materials Manager to schedule and coordinate deliveries efficiently and safely. 6. Ability to operate forklift/equipment as needed to load and unload orders. 7. Ensure proper use of truck tracking software; maintain logbook or other records as required by City, State, Local and Federal Regulations. 8. Regular attendance required. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirments
1. Requires walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree. 2. Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 3. Requires the use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations. 4. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. 5. Head movement/rotation moving head in any direction (up, down, side to side). 6. Requires climbing in and out of flatbed truck multiple times a day.
