As the Sr. Mining Planning Engineer in the North Central Region, you will provide overall project management support for and assist with capital projects related to aggregate processing facilities. Responsibilities include management of project design, estimation and field construction, various aggregate plant improvements, new plant installations, process improvement projects, and other projects in the aggregate’s arena, which consists of surface quarries and sand & gravel facilities. Preferred location of work is Sauk Rapids, MN or Sioux Falls, SD.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in mining, civil, construction or mechanical engineering.
2. Seven or more years of proven experience in the aggregate materials industry.
3. Two or more years of proven experience in aggregate processing, construction/project management preferred.
4. Knowledgeable of basic mining project coordination.
5. Proficient with MS Office suite of products and industry-related computer software (AutoCAD, AggFlow, etc.)
6. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
7. Innate continuous improvement mindset, process methodology skills, and impressive change management capability.

Duties and/or Responibilities
1. Collaborate with operations on issues critical to project success and the business process.
2. Assist with capital projects relating to the mining operations within the region.
3. Continually monitor and analyze progress toward operational objectives.
4. Responsible for communication and coordination with operations managers and senior level management on project status
5. Establish and maintain positive relationships with all existing and new general contractors and subcontractors. Work to expand the quantity and quality of contractors available for bidding.
6. Analyze the effects of various mechanical improvements to aggregate operations.
7. With support from other relevant team members, help to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws/regulations and company policy concerning safety, environmental, EEO/AAP, and others.
8. Ensure coordination of raw material requirements with respective personnel both inside and outside the Company.
9. Work closely with procurement to ensure that the company has the appropriate vendors and suppliers available for the project.
10. Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to issues as they arise.
11. Develop scope, budgets, initial concepts and bid documents related to capital construction projects.
12. Some overnight travel will be required to perform the work.
