As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising various accounting functions of the company. Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures and systems to ensure proper and effective financial reporting and compliance. Provide research and accounting assistance to operations personnel and senior management. Ensures deadlines are met and accounting and customer concerns are handled promptly. Supervises accounting personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in majors related to accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of proven experience in an accounting or finance setting.
• Highly detailed-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines while working on multiple projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing team members.
• Excellent customer relations abilities with a high degree of professionalism, and strong interpersonal / communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervisory oversight while accomplishing targeted objectives.
• Strong analytical and financial skills.
• Strong working knowledge with MS Office suite of products and accounting-related computer software (JDE, BI, etc.)
• High ethical and moral standards.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Five to seven years of experience in progressively responsible accounting and leadership positions in the construction industry.
• Experience in the construction materials supply industry.
• Three years’ experience leading a team including setting goals, providing coaching, and conducting performance evaluations.

• Responsible for various accounting functions including billing, cash handling, processing payroll and invoices, month-end closing procedures, physical inventory, and standard cost changes.
• Responsible for processing weekly payroll for Maui division and corresponds with HR team with any requests.
• Review Daily Cash Logs and reconcile any discrepancies.
• Prepares daily bank deposits of checks and cash along with deposits to the bank.
• Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Facilitate month-end close, preparing journal entries, reclasses, and inventory adjustments.
• Ensures G/L accounts are maintained, and account balances are reconciled.
• Provides support and analyses to operations personnel for respective functional areas.
• Provides leadership in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing accounting controls and procedures.
• Performs research and evaluations of complex accounting issues. Makes recommendations for implementations.
• Coaches (supervises), mentors, and trains accounting personnel and cross train with billing clerk.
• Assist with annual budget, prepare standard cost changes, and/or other financial activities, as needed.
• Facilitate with internal and external audit requests.
• *Always work safely and take action to prevent any unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
• *Must maintain confidentiality to the highest degree and have excellent analytical abilities and team building skills.
• *Must always maintain highest level of moral and ethical standards.
• Travel may be required.
• Prepare various ad hoc accounting reports and projects as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
