Knife River has an immediate opening for an Environmental Technician in the beautiful Willamette Valley, Oregon.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist Environmental Managers to ensure compliance with local and state regulations (Oregon DEQ Air & Water Quality, Oregon Department of Geology, Mine/Reclamation).
- Monitor permits to ensure renewals and updates are conducted in a timely manner
- Conduct necessary collecting, sampling and monitoring of water and/or soil for analysis
- Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors observed
- Other duties assigned as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or related field.
- Work experience in an environmental, biology, chemistry or related role (1 year minimum) with at least 6 months of field experience
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. This position requires travel (typically within 3 hours of home office).
- Ability to read and understand maps and analyze data
- Familiarity with local, state and federal environmental regulations and standards
- Strong writing skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely is a must
- Strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft products. Knowledge of geographic information systems (GIS) or other mapping software helpful
- Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills are essential
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers
