Job Summary:

This position involves hauling construction equipment and other related equipment to/from construction and commercial project sites on lowbed trailers. This Position requires at least a minimum of 2 years CDL driving experience with lowboy trailers.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. -Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks. -Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime/weekends). -Ability to work outside in all seasons. -Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required. -Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting skills. -CDL Class A Only with experience driving lowboy trailers. -Minimum 2 years driving experience. -Must be familiar with operation of construction equipment. -Multi-axle low-boy driver 10 axle low-boy experience. -Portable crusher experience; with the use of jeeps/boosters. -Knowledge of current TXDOT laws and regulations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-The Low-Boy truck driver operates a truck that pulls a flatbed trailer equipped to transport construction equipment to and from the job sites. -Driver is required to have a working knowledge of DOT required hauling permits. -Driver is to have an operational knowledge of all construction equipment to be transported and be able to load and unload equipment from low-boy trailer. -Driver will be required to measure load height, length and width. -Driver will be required to tie down equipment using chains and binders. -Driver will, on occasion, be required to change trailers to a belly dump body to transport and dump loose materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock or paving materials. -May on occasions haul hot asphalt. -Driver controls lever that dumps contents. -The position may also require the worker to operate a “loader” on occasion to load sand or gravel into the trailer. -Need positive attitude, strong self-directed work ethic and the ability to work well with others / follow detailed directions. -Perform other duties as needed. -Timely and regular attendance is essential.
