JOB SUMMARY

Check train brakes and other systems and equipment prior to train run. Assists locomotive engineer in activities required to operate train safely. Observes, interprets, understands, recognizes and relays signals from other personnel and acts upon them to ensure proper placement of locomotive and cars. Performs duties needed for inspection and maintenance of railroad cars, locomotives, railroad tracks and mechanical equipment during runs to ensure that train is operating efficiently and safely.

Typical hours during Production for this position are M-F 6am-4pm. Typical hours during Maintenance are M-F 6am-2pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, you will need the following:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
Or one to three months related experience and/or training;
Valid driver’s license.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
