As an Internal Auditor, you will play a critical role in helping our operating companies succeed through: • Assessing Control Environments: Evaluate the adequacy of control environments in all financial processes. • Consulting Engagements: Work on a variety of consulting engagements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes across the organization. • Evaluating Quality Control Processes: Review quality control processes and related documentation. • Acquisition Projects: Complete due diligence processes and review internal controls prior to and after implementing Knife River Company systems and processes. • Auditing Incentive and Benefit Plans: Ensure the completeness and accuracy of these plans. • External Reporting: Audit information reported externally, such as our Proxy and Sustainability Reports. • Risk Assessments: Perform comprehensive risk assessments. • Collaboration: Coordinate with and interview personnel across the company. • Data Analysis: Analyze complex data to support your findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, but would consider business administration, economics, project management, or other related discipline. • Operations experience with quality control and/or acquisitions, preferred. • Must possess appropriate knowledge or exhibit the ability to quickly learn audit procedures and techniques, auditing standards, internal controls, company policies and procedures, rules, regulations and laws applicable to company business activities • Good communication skills (written and oral). • Experience and knowledge of data analytics practices and concepts. • Skills to analyze situations and communicate results. • Certification as an Internal Auditor (CIA), Public Accountant (CPA), Fraud Examiner (CFE), or similar certification is a plus. • Travel is required (approximately 5% - 15%)
