Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a plant groundman to safely and efficiently assist in the daily operations of the quarry. Will perform a wide range of general laboring duties including light equipment operation tasks, assist with plant maintenance and repairs.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. -Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks. -Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime). -Ability to work outside in all seasons. -Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required. -Previous equipment maintenance and operation preferred. -Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor system and maintenance preferred. -Must have good mechanical, troubleshooting skills.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance of the plant is completed. - Responsible for routine and daily housekeeping duties to ensure a clean plant and yard. - Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning). - Shovel excess material away from crusher, screen or wash plant areas. - May operate small powered hand tools. Lifting, carrying and holding material, tools and supplies. - Perform other duties as assigned.
